Yesterday a friend tagged me in a post with an article about a seemingly natural brand whose toothpaste is actually laden with harmful chemicals. There are many brands guilty of "greenwashing." Greenwashing is the practice of brands appearing to be natural and chemical-free when quite the opposite is true. It can be extremely overwhelming trying to make sense and keep track of the growing and ever-evolving list of ingredients to avoid. Thankfully, apps like Think Dirty and the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep app make it much easier by being able to scan a product's bar code and receive a detailed score and breakdown of the ingredients and what they do.
For those looking for a healthy, natural and gently whitening toothpowder (not that I ever drink too much organic black coffee or anything like that...) that you can inexpensively make on your own, look no further than my Moon Dust Tooth Powder! The activated charcoal powder combined with the subtle sparkle of the sea salt gives it a magical moon dust appearance.
The Needful Things Thieves Blend is an updated, proprietary blend that was created to combat the ever-changing and adapting germs of the 21st century. The blend will be available soon on the Needful Things website; you can make the tooth powder without it, but it kicks the germ and periodontal disease butt-kicking power to the max! If you're short on time, my Moon Dust Tooth Powder is also available in the Shop.
As always, if you try it, tag me in your posts and use the hashtags #DIDwithCazoshay so I can see and repost them! Here's to healthy, beautiful smiles! =)
