I have definitely been quite the fragrance addict in the past...I at one time owned probably close to thirty different perfumes, one for each of my many moods throughout the day...lol. But after going through a period of shifting priorities and downsizing my belongings, AND learning that even many of my favorite high-end perfumes still contained harmful, synthetic chemical ingredients, I once again consulted my apothecary mama to figure out how to make my own customized fragrance. It's easy and pretty inexpensive. See below for details. (I'm also sharing my current fave fragrance combo that I created, delicious Vanilla Lemon Cookie!)
2 tablespoons of distilled water
5 tablespoons of 100-proof vodka (organic is best if you can find it)
About 5 drops of jojoba oil
Approximately 30 drops of high quality essential oils in a combo of your choice-have fun! Experiment!
Combine all ingredients in a dark glass spray bottle and very gently shake to combine.
Let sit in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks to let the oils combine, the fragrance will continue to meld and change as time goes by.
Gently shake it every few days, you can also smell it periodically to make adjustments during the two-week period. If you add any oils, start your two-week waiting period over again to ensure everything is well combined.
Vanilla Lemon Cookie Fragrance
