How Does Crystal Healing Work?

How Does Crystal Healing Work?

“You shall mount on it four rows of stones: the first row shall be a row of ruby, topaz, and emerald; the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst; and the fourth row a beryl and an onyx and a jasper; they shall be set in gold filigree. The [engraved] stones shall be twelve, according to the names of [the twelve tribes of] the sons of Israel; they shall be like the engravings of a signet, each with its name for the twelve tribes.”

Intro: Since ancient times, minerals, gems, and crystals have been used to enhance physical, emotional and spiritual balance and healing. Roman, Chinese, Greek, Indian, Japanese and Egyptian cultures have all tapped into the healing power of crystals and stones. As a Christian, the New Age-iness of crystal healing may seem contrary to the ideology of our faith, but I truly believe that this is a season of taking back what the world has attempted to seize from us and make fit with their own manmade practices and beliefs. This post is all about the science behind crystal healing, it also has a list of some of the crystals I use in my crystal-infused bath and body products. Read on below, and you will want to head to your nearest crystal store (or Etsy) and stock up on some gorgeous crystals for yourself.

Everything that God has created has energy, especially natural elements. This extends to crystals and stones that have certain properties at the molecular level. They have the ability to both power and support different energy shields. This ability is called piezoelectricity. Piezoelectricity pertains to the electric charge that accumulates in certain solid matters. It is the internal generation of electrical charge that comes from an applied force.

The other explanation for the healing power of crystals has to do with the Earth’s geomagnetic field. The Tokyo Institute of Technology has reported that quartz crystals can be found in the Earth’s core (the same ones that can be found on the Earth’s surface). Their calculations showed that a crystallization of silicon dioxide crystals (quartz) from the core of the Earth could provide an energy source for powering the Earth's magnetic field.

Crystals are also used industrially and in electronics for their vibrational qualities, energy and ability to hold heat. Each type of crystal carries its own properties that tend to different conditions and purposes. For example, shungite is known to help eradicate the harmful effects of the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) generated from electronics.

There’s a whole world of crystals and stones out there, just waiting for the opportunity to help us along on our wellness and selfcare journeys.
