Goodwill AZ Reclaimed Fashion Event
As I said on Instagram, you should always pick your friends based on how photogenic you are together. Case in point, me and the beautiful Laura Madden, as evidenced above. I am of course 100% kidding, I’m blessed to have a friend who is just as passionate as I am about being sustainable and…THRIFTING! We first bonded over our mutual love of Mother Earth and reusable straws at my Coffee+Yoga event (aptly named, “Kindess and Caffeine”) with She Forks PHX about a year ago.
I was super happy to support her as she was a panelist and featured at the Goodwill “Reclaimed Fashion” event this past weekend. Along with moderator Exclusively Ego and panelists Sara Zork, The Jade Show and Jessie S. Russell, Laura shared about why she loves thrifting as well as a few tips for making the most of your thrifting experience.
After the panel (I also have to add that there were cookies and sparkling cider fabulously served in champagne glasses!) we had an opportunity to shop the racks of the panelists and some other Goodwill Influencers. I picked up a few super cute pieces from Laura’s rack and I can’t wait to rock them and show you guys how I styled them!
By the end of my time at the event I was really not feeling well due to the conditions caused by the accident, and spent the following days in an even higher state of pain than my day-to-day levels. I do try to safely test and see what levels of activity I’m able to have right now, and one such way is by slowly beginning to try to attend events on a limited basis. Unfortunately right now, my physical limitations cause me to still be able to do so much less than I was able to before the accident, but I continue to hope, pray and wait expectantly for the time when these days of extreme pain and limitations are just a distant memory.
Keep on scrollin’ for more fun+fashionable pics from the event as well as my thrifted outfit and clean makeup details for the event.
