Two-Ingredient Cultured Vegan Coconut Yogurt
Back in the day, I was a hardcore yogurt fan, even though it sometimes kind of hurt my tummy. Before I switched to a mostly plant-based diet, I used to eat traditional dairy yogurt almost every day. You can still enjoy the flavor and benefits of cultured yogurt, but without the dairy! Making it yourself can also be less expensive than buying it ready-made. Read on below for an easy, two-ingredient probiotic vegan coconut yogurt recipe!
1 can of coconut cream (I love the Trader Joe's version)
4-6 vegan probiotic pills (the higher the number of live cultures, the better)
Combine probiotic pills with coconut cream.
Cover with cheesecloth or a nut milk bag.
Check in 24-48 hours. If you wait the full 48 hours, the cultured taste will be stronger.
Refrigerate and enjoy!
Enjoy your yogurt with fruit, chia seeds, brown sugar, agave, my Superfood Powders, coconut flakes, or whatever you like!
You can also let it ferment longer in the fridge (a week plus) and it will become the taste and texture of sour cream!
*Note: If nothing seems to be happening with your yogurt after the first couple days, you may not have a very strong probiotic. You can add more pills to increase the potency.
