I have decided that I’m going to make more of an effort to share my journey with you all. I am always surprised that when I share my various DIYs and recipes, one of the most common responses is questions more about who I am and what inspires me to do what I do rather than about the actual project. As a very private INTJ who is all about information and the task at hand, I will be the first to admit that it’s hard for me to open myself up to that kind of sharing, but I’m going to give it a go because I know that God has given me a mission to help others and I can’t do that by just sharing step-by-step how-to’s. So, I’m going to give you a peek into my daily life to see the projects I’m working on, the things I’m into at the moment, my struggles and triumphs, and I hope you see something that lights the spark in you and encourages you to keep going when the going gets tough. And if you don’t have time to read the post, you can just look at the cute pictures lol. So without further ado, here’s the (current) scoop.

I recently replaced my ceramic measuring cups and spoons with these beautiful gold stainless steel ones. Living with nerve damage from the accident I was in, sometimes I end up dropping things because I think I have a grip on them when I really don’t. So between that and my son and brother also breaking them, I had a mismatched set with several missing measurements. These are not only beautiful but they will also not break if they happen to get dropped.

Southern.Butter.Biscuits! Need I say more? On mornings when I’m feeling up to it, I make these for my family and myself. They are seriously so good. Buttery and light, I’ve yet to try them with gravy but I know that they would be amazeballs with that too. Usually they don’t end up having anything put on them because they get eaten right off the cast iron cookie sheet they were made on. But can you blame us? Who doesn’t love warm, delicious biscuits? Pictured here on a crocheted doily that my dear mother made and a flour sack towel. I’ve replaced all of my paper towels with these, but I’ll share more about that at a later time, probably during this Earth Month.

I am a plant propagation addict! I can’t even say that this picture represents all of them because it doesn’t! But I love that you can get free plants by propagating ones that you already have. I mean, it doesn’t get much better than #FreePlants right???

Living with disabilities caused by the accident I was in severely limits my activities. Sharing about #InvisibleDisability is something that I’m passionate about because quite frankly, it sucks. On one hand it’s a blessing to not look like what you’re going through, but on the other hand it sucks that people judge you and think you’re faking it or just not trying hard enough when you’d love nothing more than to be free from your disabilities and able to live a totally normal life. That being said, people who judge or are mean can suck it. That’s their deal, not mine. I have a life to live that does not entail letting their negative energy live rent-free in my head and heart.

Saying all that to say that I try to find ways to still do things I love while living with the limitations of my disabilities. Gardening is one of those things. I get help with it for the things I can’t do, and have automated certain parts like having the watering. It’s done on an auto system with drip hoses. I just have a few that I give a little extra to sometimes because the hoses in that area don’t give them quite enough, but I don’t have to do it every day if I’m not feeling up to it. And check out my new Farmer’s Defense sleeves! They have UV protection (I burn SUPER easily) and they asked me to do a video review of them so stay tuned for that.

My brother and I unknowingly celebrated #NationalSiblingDay with a visit to a specialty candy shop in Mesa with my son, followed by some family time at a local park there. It was a beautiful day with two of my favorite guys who have loved and supported me throughout my recovery from the accident and living with my ongoing disabilities.

Dalgona Coffee! Better late than never to post about this trendy coffee concoction. I didn’t think it would be possible for me to make it since it’s quite labor-intensive, even with a hand mixer. But done with my trusty KitchenAid that my parents got me for Christmas, it was just a matter of pouring everything in there and giving it a (literal) whirl. You can check out the easy recipe here.

I hope you enjoyed this little update. Please feel free to leave me a comment if there’s something you’d like to know more about and join me on Instagram and Facebook!
